Jim Gilbert contributed to All Seasons' member newsletter "Bird's Eye View" for over a decade and currently offers a bi-monthly phenology available here and as a handout in our stores. A favorite of our readers, his information tracks the arrival and departure of birds, blooming dates of plants, and other interesting notes of local flora and fauna.

Jim currently hosts the “Nature Notes” program on WCCO 830 AM and is the former Executive Director of the Linnaeus Arboretum and former Naturalist at Gustavus Adolphus College in St. Peter, Minnesota. Jim is also the author of Jim Gilbert's Nature Notebook, and Through Minnesota's Seasons with Jim Gilbert. Jim has been associated with the Freshwater Society and has provided the phenology information for the Minnesota Weatherguide Environment Calendar since 1977.

(remember that his postings are always a year behind the current season)

Note that most phenologies are provided in a PDF format. Don't have Acrobat Reader?  Download it for free here.
