We're
All About Birds, for All Seasons
To
keep birds coming to your feeders all year 'round, you'll
want to make sure you have the basics covered 12 months
of the year: food, water, and nesting areas. Our Calendar
section will help remind you of what to do each month and
what to watch for as the seasons fade from one to another.
For
a great seasonal timeline, or phenology, read Naturalist
Jim Gilbert's seasonal recordings of the prior year.
Will your bluebirds be back at the exact same time this
year? What about your house wrens or orioles?
Keep your own log and compare it to Jim's! Jim is
a naturalist and works with Gustavus Aldophus. He's
well-known throughout the state and his phenology is published
in our quarterly newsletter and is the basis of information
for the annual Weatherguide Calendars. Jim's
Phenology
Regardless of what month it is, you may head out of town on a vacation, or you may just have a super busy week and can't make it into the store. Our Home Delivery Services can deliver seed to you or even keep your feeders full with our Feed-n-Fill Service. Learn more.
The
calendar is cyclical, so it always has the past calendar
year loaded, with the current month being the first month
of the new cycle.
We
hope this helps you enjoy your backyard birds even more!
