If you want to keep it indoors as a decoration, that's great - but the house is a functional house designed to weather the outdoors while providing a nesting spot to your chickadees, wrens and even bluebirds.  In fact, the house was designed by Bob Benson, a longtime National Bluebird Society volunteer. House is constructed of pine and measures 10" high (except bluebird design house which measures 12") with a hole size of 1-1/4" x 1-3/4."   House has a side door for easy observation and cleaning, steps on the inside to help fledglings leave the nest, and ventilation grooves in the floor and under the eaves to help regulate temperatures.
