Keeping a pesticide-free yard is best for your bluebirds, flickers, hummingbirds and other wildlife. One way to help control mosquitos, cucumber beetles, wasps and other insects is by becoming a bat landlord. Bats will consume more than half their body weight in insects each night. Just think of that!
This cedar Bat Chalet has one main chamber with grooved walls that will provide roosting space for up to 30 bats. Big and little brown bats will use this house, along with other types of colony bats.
The house measures 23"H x 16.5"W x 4.75"D and is easily mounted to the side of a building, pole or tree. We recommend hanging the chalet a minimum of 10' off the ground to help the bats more easily enter and leave the house.
Nature's very own insect control! |
